revising in what way? my spelling error? or the quote from John himself. Also i strongly agree with emily on the point of "Abigail believes that the women should not be forgotten, yet John says that the men are not foolish enough to relinquish their power" because at the time, women were generally undermined to be lesser than the man, and quite essential, but only in the home, not meant to participate in government.

I wonder, what makes you think that he doesn't value his wife's opinion?

From the letters you can deduce that they have a close relationship. Abigail is concerned for the writes of women and all feels the need to inform her husband of what is happening in her surroundings. John writes briefly to his wife only responding to what she writes about and ideas that are affecting his work. While it is clear John does value his wife's opinion he does not believe in giving up the county's system.

Could the differences in the letters be a "men are from Mars, women are from Venus" situation? Perhaps you are right, J. Adams was just too busy.

I also agree to what Abigail was trying to say when she felt that women weren;t involved as much and she feels they should be becsause she felt the men could become tyrants. The relationship betweeb John and Abigail does seem like they are close, because they send letters back and forth to eachother. But it also seems as if they are kind of different in their views on things, but you know what they say..opposites attract. John cares about what Abigail has to say but he seems to only give answers to her questions and seem short. I just think Jonh thought that Abigail was being somewhat ridiculous in her views that women should be involved more/

Who do you think wore the pants in the family?

Abigail also fills her letters with what is going on in her life, volunteering information, while John just answers her questions and remarks upon what she says.
